Morpho menelaus - is an iridescent blue butterfly from South and Central American rain forests.
The Blue Morpho is quite fascinating. Legend has it that the morpho leads people off to die. They follow it because it is iridescent, and then fall off a cliff or down a hole. The morpho loves rivers, and waterfalls.
The first time I saw the Blue Morpho butterfly was in Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge in Costa Rica near the Nicaraguan border, on a boat ride down the Rio Frio. The second time I saw one I was on the Nicaraugan side of the border. When I was on the Nicaraugan side it was an accident being there. I was drug there by rebels. It’s been making me crazy ever since. (Frente Unido Andres Castro - FUAC) The third time I saw one was by Cataratas de La Paz The last time I saw one was in the cloud forest reserve in Monte Verde, Costa Rica.

Is this what it was doing to me? Leading me off to die? I am still angry about the rebels, because that whole scene never should have happened. But it did and life moves on.
A Butterfly - by Reagle
A butterfly
is such a beautiful creature,
a myriad display of majestic colours.
But what makes it so magical
is the special grace,
the fluttering gaiety,
the dance from
place to place.
Who am I
to capture a free spirit?
Like a collector
with his butterfly net,
bottling the joy
and celebration of life.
This is not me,
as I have a dream to realize
to be a woman who can love,
cherish and nurture the spirit of life.
Living my life,
understanding
that true love -
like the dancing butterfly -
will find its place, its home.

That butterfly is beautiful indeed. I tried to read the poem you wrote after your capture but I do not know the language, however, I am very sorry to hear that something so tragic happened to you. I couldn’t imagine how that must feel. :( *hugs*
And I just realized that you posted again after this with an english translation so I’m off to read that.
