Occupation 101: Voice of the Silenced Majority is a documentary on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, narrated by If Americans Knew founder Alison Weir. It piles up damning allegations against Israel, and the human rights abuses, the genocide, the Israelis are committing in Palestine and Gaza, detailing how horrid life is for the Palestinians under Israeli military rule. Why should you care? Because United States (American) tax dollars are paying the bill for the murder, the genocide, of the Palestinian people. Israel is “empowered by American tax money.” This implicates every American in the horrific crimes being perpetrated against the Palestinian people.
Occupation 101 questions the nature of Israeli-American relations, the Israeli military occupation of the West Bank and Gaza, and whether Americans should help pay for it. It includes interviews with mostly American and Israeli scholars, religious leaders, humanitarian workers, and NGO’s critical of the injustices, the human rights abuses that stem from Israeli policy in the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and Gaza Strip.
Occupation 101 is a thought-provoking and powerful documentary film on the current and historical root causes of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and the role of the United States in the conflict, and the major obstacles that stand in the way of a lasting and viable peace. The roots of the conflict are explained through first-hand on-the-ground experiences from leading Middle East scholars, historians, peace activists, journalists, religious leaders and humanitarian workers whose voices have too often been suppressed in American media outlets. Unlike any other film ever produced on the Israeli battle against the Palestinians, Occupation 101 presents a comprehensive analysis of the facts and hidden truths surrounding the never ending controversy and dispels many of its long-perceived myths and misconceptions. It explains the reality of the situation that is silenced in the mainstream media.”
Alison Weir - If Americans Knew
“Alison Weir (the narrator) is the founder of If Americans Knew. She was a journalist off and on for many years. As a freelance journalist, Weir went on an independent investigation to the flash points in the West Bank and Gaza rarely visited by American journalists. Since returning she has spoken on Capitol Hill, to business leaders, at prestigious Washington D.C. think tanks, and at a multitude of universities.”
Former Congressman Tom Campbell said of Weir:
“Ms. Weir presents a powerful, well documented view of the Middle East today. She is intelligent, careful, and critical. American policy makers would benefit greatly from hearing her first-hand observations and attempting to answer the questions she poses.”
The film won several awards from film festivals.
* Winner of the “Golden Palm” Award (highest honor given by jury) and for “Best Editing” at the 2007 International Beverly Hills Film Festival.
* Winner of the ‘Artivist Award’ for Best Feature Film under the category of Human Rights at the 2006 Artivist Film Festival in Hollywood.

That movie made me sick to the stomach, but it’s true. You are right. The evidence is pretty damning against israel. It reminds of the holocaust the Nazis committed in Germany. What am I saying? It is a holocaust. The whole world should be screaming to put a stop to it. Of course I don’t see it stopping anytime soon with the lobbyists from AIPAC (The American Israel Public Affairs Committee) stuffing the pockets of congress. But it is like J. William Fulbright said, “Israel controls the United States Senate. Around 80 percent are completely in support of Israel; anything Israel wants it gets. Jewish influence in the House of Representatives is even greater.” (CBS Face the Nation - April 15, 1973.)
Fulbright knew what he was talking about too. He was an educated man who served six terms in the senate. Fulbright was the longest serving chairman in the history of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. He also promoted the passage of legislation establishing the Fulbright Program in 1946, a program of educational grants (Fulbright Fellowships and Fulbright Scholarships), sponsored by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the United States Department of State, governments in other countries, and the private sector.
Just like the Israelis to try to do a Nazi genocide thing. And whats even worse is we are paying for this kind of terror and murder with our tax dollars. this makes me sick. what makes it worse i think is if Americans knew (some probably do), they most likely would not care because its not happening in their part of the world. I fear that events like what happened in Hotel Rwanda (the movie is very true) and what is happening in Palestine and the Gaza strip will happen again even if the Americans know. All most Americans care about is what’s for dinner, as long as it doesn’t affect them personally. Meanwhile, the Israelis want to eliminate an entire race of people. True Evil lurks in the hearts of men.
