The so-called “treasonous” Dixie Chicks have released their first album since their controversial anti-Bush comments got them kicked off of country music stations. As the album’s first single made clear, they are “Not Ready To Make Nice.” This is one awesome video. Enjoy!
The Dixie Chicks are definitely heroes for taking a stand.

I’m sorry with this one, but who cares what the Dixie Chicks think? Maybe because country is not my cup of tea, but I just smell publicity stunt here…
I dont think it is a publicity stunt. If they wanted good press they would have a whole dog and pony show production where they kiss the butts of the country music audiance.
I think this is cleary, the dixie chicks making a statement. I do agree with you on who cares what the dixie chicks think. Either you like thier music or you don’t. To decide you’re not going to like someone becuase of thier political views is silly. (Unless they’re in the business of giving thier views i.e. limbaugh or fraken).
Glad you posted again Static, with or without out bunnies and ice cream
I’ve always loved the Dixie Chicks!
It’s very common for celebrities to have their popularity affected by their political opinions, they’re humans afterall.
Nor am I ready to make nice … even though it’s my nature …
It intrigues me a little how your average peace-loving individual can be so easily coaxed into hating an enemy designated by the higher command. Sometimes, one must wave the flag and stifle dissent. It wouldn’t be sickening if it weren’t universal.
I’m sure they speak for more country western musicians, than one would guess.
Hey Static Brain, just running my blog-roll and ran into the Dixie Chick’s post, the new album is really good I got it when it first came out.
I guess they just made a statement and at a time when the country just had not had enough of the corruptness that has swallowed up Washington, I think we have came a long way toward seeing just how well off we really are with a rubber-stamp Congress.
Everyone should know that we can not keep spending money and building ‘big government’ like every conservative seems to embrace, sooner or later we have to pay the piper and at this point it looks like the middle-class is on it’s way of doing just that.
Good post the Dixie Chicks have a lot of good tracks on this new album.
