Stupid Spammers

Sorry to have to announce that due to repeated spam in my shout box / chat box all comments in the box must now be moderated while I look for another solution. Again, I am sorry! I love getting comments and I love that chat box, but the spam is getting disgusting in it. Some of it was so disgusting, that it is unmentionable…

    that is ridiculous people have no life other then having time to spam you like that. I hope you get it under control soon. Sorry that you are having this problem. :kiss:

    I had to start a new blog and add a new widget that links to all my other blog. Also I added blogcatalog and entrecard and increased my traffic significantly.

    I use the Nucleus software and it has a pretty good Captcha plugin as well as a couple of anti-spam filters. The shoutbox I had to use their mini-forum and tweak it. There are probably some php scripts you could add because the Nucleus code is a modification of a script someone picked up somewhere. I am not able to look up links at the moment, but I will be thinking about it.

    Thanks for the compliment on my story. I had a couple of others in recent weeks.

    I know what you mean. When I had a chatbox on Blogdrive I was plagued by this poster that just infuriated me at times. Hope everything turns out well :sheep:

    Indeed, spammers keep on attacking and leaving tracks. Don’t worry, we still are here in the comments section. Moderation is indeed the answer. The same is true for comemnts as well. Word veri wont solve it.
